Job offer in molecular and structural biology

We are delighted to announce an opening for a PhD student position as part of our research endeavor, titled "Deciphering the ribosome inactivating proteins modus operandi at the molecular and cellular levels" This project is funded by the National Science Centre (NCN).

Apply today! - DEAD LINE - 26 September 2023

We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD candidate for a period of four (4) years to join the exciting research project aimed at deciphering the ribosome inactivating proteins action at molecular and cellular levels.
The project is dedicated to exploring the molecular and cellular dynamics of ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs). The PhD candidate will engage in multidisciplinary research spanning biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology, specifically using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to study molecular interactions between RIPs and eukaryotic ribosomes. Specialized responsibilities for the PhD candidate will encompass: designing genetic systems for the heterologous expression of a range of RIPs; purifying recombinant proteins through biochemical methods; investigating protein-protein interactions; especially, the candidate will be involved in preparation of protein complexes for in-depth structural analysis using the cryo-EM methodology and data processing as well.

Principal Investigator - Przemysław Grela, PhD (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin). To apply please send CV, a motivation letter, copy of MSc diploma, two academic reference (including direct supervisor) to Przemysław Grela (przemyslaw.grela@mail.umcs.pl).
