The idea of creating a Student Scientific Journals emerged from members of the Political Science Student Association at the Faculty of Political Science of UMCS. The first issue of “CONSENSUS” was published in 2001, made possible by the efforts of student organisations and financial support from the Faculty authorities. Since then, “CONSENSUS” has established itself as a respected platform for academic discussion, allowing students to present their research achievements, share opinions, and publish reviews. The high academic standard of the journal is maintained through consultations with scholars specializing in the respective research fields. As a “CONSENSUS” is a student-led journal, its Editorial Board changes over time, as students graduate and complete their academic activities. This was also the case with the founding members: Arkadiusz Szewczak (the first editor-in-chief), Monika Sidor, Przemysław Maj, and Aneta Tkaczyk, who continued their academic careers after obtaining their master’s degrees. Following consultations with the journal’s academic advisor, prof. dr hab. Henryk Chałupczak, it was decided that new editorial members would be recruited annually to maintain the youthfulness of the teams and ensure continuity in publishing. The second issue was led by Bartosz Dykąga, followed by Małgorzata Dobrowolska, whose editorial team produced the third issue. The fourth issue was developed under Marcin Kosienkowski, and the fifth was overseen by Ewa Orzeszko. Issues 6 and 7 were produced under Adrian Berski as editor-in-chief. The eighth issue was prepared by a six-member editorial team: Karol Adamaszek, Adrian Berski, Sylwia Hejno, Marek Jęderek, Katarzyna Rosły, and Wojciech Zieliński. The ninth issue was compiled and edited by a team led by Wojciech Zieliński (editor-in-chief), alongside Marek Jędrejek, Katarzyna Rosły, and Wojciech Sieradzon. Successive editorial teams have ensured that each issue of “CONSENSUS” is published in electronic form, where information about the editorial team for each edition is available. On 2 December 2021, “CONSENSUS” was officially included in the new list of scientific journals and reviewed conference materials issued by the Polish Ministry of Education and Science, with an academic score of 20 points. This marks a tremendous achievement and a remarkable milestone, celebrating 20 years of “CONSENSUS” in the academic publishing landscape! We invite you to collaborate! |
