Associated Professor in International Relations Department, Faculty of Political Science, UMCS.

100 years ago one of the American political visionaries said: “The Mediterranean is the ocean of the past, the Atlantic is the ocean of the present and the Pacific is the ocean of the future”. This vision has been materialized and we can observe an important shift from Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. This is the reason why Asia Pacific region is one of her field of interest. The second one is culture in international relations. Culture for many years was neglected factor in IR, but today gain attention of many scholars. Today we should think about power not only in traditional way – military, economically, but also in terms of culture – country brand, attractiveness, public diplomacy - soft power. And another aspects of culture in IR, especially interesting for her, are cultural security and cultural intelligence as well as strategic culture.
