The Doctoral Program at the School of Social Sciences spans eight semesters (four years) and is conducted in accordance with a structured curriculum and the individual research plans of doctoral candidates. Adopting an integrated approach to doctoral education, the program covers a broad spectrum of social science disciplines while emphasising the distinct identity of each discipline and the research conducted therein.
Throughout their studies, candidates are expected to achieve learning outcomes corresponding to Level 8 of the Polish Qualifications Framework (PQF). The programme comprises general courses accessible to all doctoral candidates and specialised courses tailored to specific academic disciplines. The program also provides opportunities for internships and professional placements.
A crucial component of doctoral training is the Individual Research Plan, developed by the candidate in collaboration with their academic supervisor based on guidelines established by the Scientific Councils of the Institutes at the start of the first academic year. This plan includes the research topic and methodology, the timeline for the research process and the schedule for preparing and writing the doctoral dissertation. It also includes planned publications, research visits and conference contributions related to the candidate’s doctoral research.
