We cordially invite UMCS students, faculty and staff as well as members of Lublin local community to participate in a series of lectures by Prof. Marek Rozell (Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, USA) on March 12-14, 2024. The topics of the lectures are related to the 20024 presidential elections in the United States in a broad political, social and international context. After each lecture, we plan Q&A session and discussion. All lectures in English. The meetings will be chaired by Prof. Marek Pietraś, Director of the Institute of International Relations of UMCS. About our guest lecturer: Prof. Mark J. Rozell is the founder and Dean of the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. He serves as the Head of the Department of Public Policy. Ruth D. and John T. Hazel. His scientific interests and teaching achievements focus on political science and public administration (the political system and public policies at the US federal level in.al. electoral processes, the presidency and the functioning of the federal executive power, foreign policy and national security policy). He gave numerous guest lectures in the USA and abroad. In recent years he has lectured in Austria, China, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Poland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey and Vietnam. Prof. Rozell extensively published on the US political system and specific policies on the US federal level, including on electoral processes, the presidency and the functioning of the executive branch on the federal level, foreign and security policy. He is the editor of scientific publications series, a member of the editorial boards of several prestigious publishing houses and scientific periodicals, including International Journal of Political Science and Diplomacy, Anthenaeum: Polish Political Science Studies; Palgrave MacMillan Press; Georgetown University Press. He is also the author or co-author of 13 books and the editor of 20 books on topics related to U.S. government and politics, including the presidency, the role of religion and media in U.S. politics, southern politics in the United States, and interest groups in elections, in.al.:
As a well-known political commentator in the American media, Prof. Rozell has worked with various media outlets, incl.
