Dumnie informujemy, że dr Monika Szkarłat z Katedry Administracji Publicznej UMCS została wybrana do zespołu ds. priorytetów naukowych (Obszar tematyczny 4: Współpraca naukowa i dyplomacja naukowa) Międzynarodowej Konferencji Planowania Badań Arktycznych 4 (ang. International Conference on Arctic Research Planning 4). Pani Doktor będzie jednym z dwóch reprezentantów Polski w tym gremium.
Proces ICARP IV to przedsięwzięcie obejmujące całą społeczność, angażujące badaczy Arktyki, rdzennych mieszkańców, decydentów, mieszkańców oraz innych interesariuszy z całego świata.
Jednym z głównych celów procesu angażowania ICARP IV jest zapewnienie, aby był on naprawdę inkluzywny, różnorodny i angażujący, aby zagwarantować, że priorytety naukowe na następną dekadę będą solidnie oparte na radach i potrzebach naukowców Arktyki oraz organizacji naukowych, rdzennych mieszkańców i mieszkańców Arktyki, interesariuszy i posiadaczy praw.
ICARP IV to też proces przygotowujący społeczność naukową do V Międzynarodowego Roku Polarnego, który zaplanowano na 2032-33.

Dr. Monika Szkarłat has been selected to join the scientific priorities team (Thematic Area 4: Scientific Cooperation and Science Diplomacy) for the Fourth International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP IV). The ICARP IV process is a community-wide initiative that engages Arctic researchers, Indigenous Peoples, policy makers, residents, and other stakeholders from around the world. Dr. Szkarłat will serve as one of two representatives from Poland in this body.
One of the primary objectives of the ICARP IV engagement process is to ensure it is genuinely inclusive, diverse, and engaging, in order to guarantee that the scientific priorities for the coming decade are robustly founded on the advice and needs of Arctic scientists and scientific organizations, Indigenous peoples, Arctic residents, stakeholders, and rights-holders.
ICARP IV is also a process that prepares the scientific community for the Fifth International Polar Year, scheduled for 2032-33.
