In the main campus area, there are a few small stationery and grocery stores. There are also bakeries and post offices. Grocery stores are open from 7am until 7pm, whereas supermarkets are usually open from 9am to 9pm, Monday through Friday, while on Saturday until 8pm. On Sundays the grocery stores and supermarkets open later and close earlier than on weekdays, provided that they work at all. Since March 2018 Sunday trading ban has been gradually introduced in Poland.

There are many supermarkets and shopping centres in Lublin that offer a wide variety of goods at competitive prices. The most popular are Real, Auchan, E.Leclerc, Media Markt, Tesco, Galeria Orkana, Galeria Olimp, Felicity Shopping Mall and CHR Lublin Plaza. The nearest ones to the main campus of UMCS are CHR Lublin Plaza and E.Leclerc, where you can buy virtually everything. There are several discount store chains in Lublin: Biedronka, Stokrotka, Aldik, Lidl.

If you are interested in purchasing souvenirs, you should go to the Old Town district or to ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście where you can find plenty of small souvenir shops.
