Applying for on-campus accommodation for students admitted for the first year of studies in the 2022/2023 academic year

The procedure of applying for on-campus housing (so-called second turn of application) for the 2022/23 academic year starts on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, and lasts until Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

During the second turn of application, the following groups of students can apply: students admitted for the first year of the first-cycle, second-cycle, and long-cycle studies, as well as students admitted for the first year of studies in the UMCS Doctoral Schools in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Logging to the USOSweb for the first time (available after August 16, 2022): visit the following website: https://login.umcs.pl/ and click on “Reset password”. On the next page, type in the e-mail address provided during registration for a study programme. You will shortly receive an e-mail notification with your login and a link to set a new password (remember to check your SPAM and notifications folders).

Students who apply for accommodation on the special basis, i.e. persons with disabilities, single parents, students’ marriages, orphans and half-orphans, are obliged to attach a scan of the document confirming this circumstance (the certificate of disability, copy of the child's birth certificate, copy of the marriage certificate, copy of the parent's death certificate).

Applicants who are visually impaired, use a wheelchair or walk on crutches should indicate this fact on Page 9 in the USOSweb system. This action will help with the selection of the proper Dormitory.

Important dates:

• August 16 – September 13, 2022 – students submit applications in the USOSweb system;
• after September 13, 2022 – the Commission for Dormitories publishes the results of the second round of application for on-campus accommodation in the USOSweb system;
• by September 20, 2022 – students confirm the assigned places in the USOSweb system (more information in the announcement);
• by September 21, 2022 – students pay the deposit/booking fee (more information in the announcement).

Please familiarise yourselves with the Rector’s Announcement of 15 July 2022 on the rules of confirming the assigned places in the UMCS Residence Halls in the 2022/2023 academic year, in the second round of application.

The procedure of applying for on-campus housing for the 2022/23 academic year starts on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 and lasts until Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Therefore, during the first round of application only the following groups of students can apply:

a) current students:

• I to IV-year students of long-cycle programmes,
• I, II-year bachelor’s degree students (3-year programmes),
• I, II and III-year engineer’s degree students (3,5-year programmes),
• I-year students of second-cycle (master’s degree) programmes,

b) current doctoral students as well as doctoral schools’ students:

• I, II – year students from doctoral schools,
• III, IV- year doctoral students.

The second round of applications is for newly accepted candidates for the I year of bachelor, master and doctoral degree students in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Applications for on-campus housing should be submitted ONLY via the USOSweb system.

It is not necessary to print out and submit a paper form of your application!

At the same time, we would like to inform you that students who apply for accommodation on a special basis, i.e. persons with disabilities, single parents, students’ marriages, orphans and half-orphans, are obliged to attach a scan of the document confirming this circumstance (the certificate of disability, copy of the child's birth certificate, copy of the marriage certificate, copy of the parent's death certificate) on Page 4 in the USOSweb system.

During the first round of application, students cannot apply for accommodation in the “Helios” Residence Hall. The possibility to apply for accommodation in “Helios” shall be provided in a separate announcement.

After July 2, 2022, the Commission for Dormitories will publish the results of the first round of applications for on-campus housing in the USOSweb system.

The choice of assigned places must be confirmed ONLY on the USOSweb platform by July 20, 2022, at the latest. Students are also required to pay the deposit/booking fee by July 26, 2022, at the latest (more information in the announcement).
