During the celebrations, the importance of the European Centre UMCS, as a kind of bridge between East and West was repeatedly emphasised. The current geopolitical situation shows how important and justified the establishment of this institution was. Educating young people from Ukraine on the functioning of European institutions and local government activities in the context of the European aspirations of our eastern neighbour takes on new relevance.
