The prize name of Jerzy Giedroyc was established by the UMCS Senate and has been awarded since 2001 for research on the heritage of the Parisian "Kultura" or the creative continuation of Jerzy Giedroyc's message in the field of science.
The members of the Award Committee decide to whom to give the award. "Monographs and collective publications, published during the full two calendar years preceding the award year, based on previously unused or newly interpreted source materials and bringing new findings to the state of research on a given issue," may be submitted to the competition.
Any may apply to the Chapter members, institutions, legal persons from the country, and Polish diaspora institutions. The competition results were announced on 14th September, the anniversary of Jerzy Giedroyc's death. The amount of the prize is PLN 25,000.
