'Language without borders' workshops in Starachowice

After the summer break, we are back with a series of workshops conducted by foreign students of UMCS for high school students.

On 27 September 2022, a meeting under the 'Language without borders' slogan was organised at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Tadeusza Kościuszki in Starachowice and consisted of a dual language and culture workshop for three classes. The meeting with the youth was attended by: Mélusine Magat – student of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism from France, Kavindi Jayawickreme – student of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology from Sri Lanka and Maciej Cieciora – representative of the Welcome Center of UMCS.

The meeting was another event organised in the Outreach Program for High Schools formula. The aim of the 'Language without borders' workshops, which are carried out until the end of the academic year as part of the NAWA Welcome to Poland project, is the intercultural integration of foreign students studying at our University and the promotion of the English-language educational offer of UMCS among high school students. The meetings are held as part of the Welcome to Poland – 'UMCS 4 All' project financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.

The project manager is dr Ewelina Panas – Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation of Education.
