Polytechnic of Porto invites you to join them for Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)!

Why Should You Apply to This Course?

In today's interconnected world, effective communication across languages and cultures is essential. "Interpreting as Tool in Business Communication" is an introductory and comprehensive Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate communicative situations requiring language mediation. During this BIP you will gain insights into cultural nuances and etiquette to ensure accurate and effective communication in diverse settings, including health-care and community settings. You will also engage in practical exercises and real-world interactions to develop skills in the scope of remote and whispered interpreting.

For Who?

This Programme is ideal for aspiring interpreters or any student looking to enhance their communication skills in a global context. Whether you are aiming to have your first interpreting experience or to brush up your current skills, this BIP will provide the hands-on experience you need. 

This course is aimed at students who are willing to develop communication skills in multilingual environments and have a good command of English (minimum B2).

  • Online session: June 25, 2025
  • Onsite week in Porto: June 30 till July 4, 2025

Location: Porto, Portugal
Credits: 3 ECTS

How to Apply?

  1. Make sure you can attend all the sessions, both online and face-to-face.
  2. Contact your Erasmus faculty coordinator or UMCS Erasmus Office for details and to obtain approval for participation.
  3. Fill in the form.

Application deadline: June 7, 2025

Please note that the number of participants will be limited to 20.

  • This program is open to students from partner universities of the Consortium (priority given).
  • Attendance for both the online session and full onsite program is mandatory.
  • Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation, but support will be provided with useful links and suggestions.
