Protein Bioengineering Laboratory

The Protein Bioengineering Laboratory focuses on new technologies in the fields of biochemistry, biophysics, and molecular biology with the aim of developing innovative biomaterials for biotechnological applications. The Laboratory specialises in conducting interdisciplinary research that can entail work in the areas of genetic engineering, biochemistry and biophysics. The research focuses on analysing the functions of proteins and peptides, as well as protein-to-protein and protein-to-ligand interactions. The Laboratory takes advantage of laboratory space furnished with lab furniture and fume cupboards as well as a number of adjacent rooms that can be adapted to the needs at hand.

The laboratory performs lab work for scientific and commercial research projects. Its offer includes:
- development/design of expressive systems for the purposes of producing recombinant proteins,
- purification of native and recombinant proteins from various biological systems,
- analyses of intercellular interactions and assessment of the interaction kinetics parameters.
