Paleolimnological Session - the results of paleoenvironmental research obtained under the NCN OPUS 14

On March 21-22, the XIV Paleolimnological Session "Aquatic Ecosystems - Changes and Pressures Over Time" is being held at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk. Among the speakers are staff members of our Institute presenting the results of paleoenvironmental research obtained under the NCN OPUS 14 grant titled "Mid-Eemian Climatic Oscillations. Reconstruction based on multidisciplinary studies of fossil lacustrine sediments from the Garwolin Plain (Central Poland)":

  • The paleoecological and paleohydrological record of two neighboring sites, Struga and Parysów (Garwolin Plain) - implications for the evolution of Eemian paleolakes in Central Poland - presented by Dr. Magdalena Suchora;
  • The variability of grain size as an indicator of environmental dynamics in the Eemian interglacial against the background of palynological successions from Struga and Kozłów on the Garwolin Plain - Dr. hab. Przemysław Mroczek, Prof. UMCS;
  • Palynostratigraphy and the results of OSL dating on the example of Eemian reservoirs of the Garwolin Plain - Prof. Dr. hab. Irena Agnieszka Pidek.
