Technische Universitaet Dresden is one of eleven German universities that were identified by the German government as an ‘excellence university’. The University has about 36,000 students, 550 professors, and is the largest University in Saxony . TU Dresden is a multi-discipline University, also offering humanities and social sciences as well as medicine. TUD is only University in East Germany, which has been granted a graduate school and a cluster of excellence in Germany’s excellence initiative.
