The call for applications for the Bogdanka Cultural Scholarships in Chatka Żaka is now starting! Submit your project!
On 20th May, during a press conference in Academic Centre of Culture and Media UMCS “Chatka Żaka”, UMCS Rector, prof. dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski and the President of the Management Board of Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka SA, Artur Wasil, signed an agreement to finance the scholarship program "Bogdanka Cultural Scholarships in Chatka Żaka".
It is a scholarship program aimed at supporting young artists and culture animators from the Lublin region. It is implemented under the Policy of Social Involvement of Lubelski Węgiel "Bogdanka" SA, in cooperation with the Academic Centre for Culture and Media UMCS Chatka Żaka in Lublin.
Young people are our future, and we have been focusing on developing their talents for years. Being socially responsible means investing in human resources, culture and sport. I am happy to cooperate with the UMCS Chatka Żaka Academic Centre for Culture and Media, which aims to develop culture and student initiatives. Through scholarships, we will discover the talents of young people and give them a chance for their development. Moreover, in the future, thanks to the activities of the Scholarship holders, we will enrich our region with beautiful, creative and valuable works. - said Artur Wasil, President of the Management Board of LW Bogdanka S.A.
Creative scholarships are awarded in two categories: artistic activity and promoting culture and increasing the availability of artistic events.
Lublin's culture is, to a large extent, nurtured by students. Therefore, the programs that allow them to create and grow are essential. I hope that thanks to the Bogdanka Cultural Scholarships in Chatka Żaka, we will participate in events that will further expand the artistic horizons of the inhabitants of our region. - adds the Rector of UMCS, prof. Dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski.
Scholarships are awarded for activities related to the following fields: music, dance, theatre, film, visual arts (e.g. painting, graphics, drawing, sculpture, photography, multimedia, intermedia, installation) and literature. The total amount of the scholarship budget is PLN 70,000.
We are pleased that this project will help popularize student culture, which has been discussed recently. The mission of Chatka Żak has always been to promote all initiatives related to artistic activity and the media not only in the Lublin environment but more and more often throughout Poland. I believe that these scholarships will contribute to the development of many innovative projects on the cultural map of Lublin. - says Izabela Pastuszko, Director of the Academic Centre of Culture and Media at UMCS Chatka Żaka.
