Between 19th and 20th June this year, there was an integration trip of international students who study at our University in Polish and English-speaking faculties, Krakow, as well as to Oświęcim, where the Memorial Site and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum are located.
On the first day of departure, students had a guided tour around the Wawel Royal Castle and the most famous monuments of Krakow's Old Town. The next day, the group visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. The trip was organized as a result of students' participation in the UMCS Participatory Budget competition.
The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Promotion Centre organized the trip in cooperation with the University Board of the Students' Self-Government. It was financed by the National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the "Welcome to Poland" project. The project coordinators are Dr Ewelina Panas and Dr Marcin Gołębiowski.
