What is coronavirus?
The new SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus causes a disease called COVID-19. The disease is most often manifested by fever, coughing, shortness of breath, muscle aches and fatigue.

How often do symptoms occur?
Severe course of the disease is observed in about 15-20% of people. Deaths occur in 2-3% of patients. Probably this data is overestimated, as in many people with a mild infection, no laboratory confirmation has been made.

Who is the most exposed?
The most vulnerable to developing severe disease and death are elderly people with reduced immunity accompanied by other diseases, especially chronic ones.

How to protect yourself against coronavirus?
The virus is transmitted by droplet route. There is currently no vaccine against the new coronavirus. However, you can use other methods to prevent infection, such as:

  • Wash your hands often
  • Apply appropriate protection when coughing or sneezing (use disposable tissues)
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Keep at least 1 meter distance between you and other people, especially those who cough, sneeze and have a fever
  • If you have a fever, cough, breathing difficulties, get medical attention
  • If you have mild respiratory symptoms and have not travelled to China, be sure to follow the basic principles of protection when coughing, sneezing together with hand hygiene. Stay at home until recovery if possible.
  • Healthy people's face masks are not recommended to prevent the spread of SARS-Cov-2.
