Dr. Paweł Pasierbiak (UMCS), together with Dr. Bruce A. Kibler (Gannon University), gave a lecture inaugurating the activity of the Jefferson Educational Society (JES) in 2016/2017. JES is a think tank based in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA, carrying out development and educational projects.

The presentation was entitled: 'Erie, PA, and Lublin, PL Sister Cities, an Economic Development Comparison.'

Dr. B. Kibler and Dr. P. Pasierbiak have been cooperating scientifically for several years, and currently, they focus on developing academic cooperation between Lublin and Erie, which have been partner cities since 1999.

Dr. B. Kibler visited our University in July 2016, while Dr. P. Pasierbiak stayed in the United States in September 2016. In addition to his lecture for the Jefferson Educational Society, Dr. P. Pasierbiak conducted classes for undergraduate and graduate students of Gannon University on regional economic integration in East Asia.

Dr. P. Pasierbiak's stay in the United States was financed by the Erasmus + program.
