On 31st of March 2016, the 4th Poland – Africa Economic Forum and the Polish-African Day were organized by the president of the African Institute and former MP John Godson.
It was attended by His Majesty Emir Keffi from Nigeria, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Joanna Wronecka, representatives of the diplomatic corps (including ambassadors of African countries accredited in Warsaw), Polish and African parliamentarians, representatives of government agencies, businesspeople and scholars. The purpose of the meetings is to bring together business partners from Poland and Africa. In recent years, a significant increase in exports and foreign direct investments from Poland to Africa can be observed. African entrepreneurs are also interested in the Polish market.
The Lublin accent was the presentation of the “A Friend of Africa” statuette in the “Business” category to Karol Zarajczyk, the president of Ursus, which is a beneficiary of the contract between Poland and Ethiopia for USD 100 m
