Meeting of the Program Council of the European Centre

On 30th September of this year, another meeting of the Program Council of the UMCS European Centre took place. The format of the meeting was online. Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin was represented by: Rector prof. Radosław Dobrowolski, Vice-Rector for General Affairs dr hab. Arkadiusz Bereza, prof. Of the University, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation prof. Wiesław Gruszecki, Director of the Institute of Political Sciences and Administration, prof. Marek Pietraś and the Director of the Centre, Dr. Kinga Wernicka.

The aim of the meeting was, in particular, to strengthen cooperation in the area of ​​already implemented activities and develop new forms of cooperation between the University and other foreign partners.

Established in 2018, the UMCS European Centre is the result of many years of cooperation between universities and academic centres from France and Ukraine: the University of Lorraine in Nancy, the National University of T. Shevchenko in Kyiv, the Chernivtsi National University of J. Fedkowycz and the Subcarpathian National University of W. Stefanyk in Ivano-Frankivsk.

A Centre is a university-wide unit that conducts teaching and research activities in European integration from an interdisciplinary perspective. Its most important tasks include cooperation with partners to develop and create new research and teaching programs in the field of European studies, support for interdisciplinary research in the field of European studies, with particular emphasis on research on European and EU integration, organization of studies and other didactic programs in the field of interdisciplinary studies European studies, as well as the development and promotion of education for European integration.
