Another edition of "Welcome Party"

On 28th October 2021, at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of UMCS, the "Welcome Party" was held - an integration and welcome event for international students starting their education at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. The meeting was part of the tradition initiated in 2015 and was already the seventh event of this type organized on our Alma Mater. This year's "Welcome Party" was also attended by foreign lecturers and doctoral students.

It is worth emphasizing that students from dozens of countries, almost all continents, are currently studying at our University. Our students' countries of origin are Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, India, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Morocco, Russia, Tanzania, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.

The "Welcome Party" began with speeches by representatives of the UMCS rector's authorities and faculty authorities, as well as representatives of both students and graduates of foreigners. The second part of the event was artistic - the gathered participants presented themselves to students from Belarus, Ukraine, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

Marek Pietraś, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry - prof. dr hab. Anna Deryło-Marczewska, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism - dr hab. Wojciech Ziętara, prof. of the university, Dean of the Faculty of Economics - dr hab. Mariusz Kicia, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology - dr hab. Małgorzata Wójcik, prof. of the University, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Geosciences and Spatial Management - prof. dr hab. Wojciech Zglobicki, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Chemistry - dr hab. Piotr Borowski, prof. of the University, Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Philology - dr hab. Jarosław Krajka, prof. of the University. Representatives of the City Hall also attended the meeting: Dr Mariusz Sagan - Director of the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Ms Wiktoria Herun - Head of the Department for Cooperation with Academy.
