Adrianna Sułek is the runner-up in the world!

Adrianna Sułek became the indoor pentathlon world runner-up! The AZS UMCS Lublin competitor has made her life successful with a new Polish record.

Sułek was one of the favourites for the medal - she came to Belgrade with the first result on the world lists and did not disappoint the hopes placed on her. On Friday, she was doing very well in the first competition.

In the 60 m hurdle race, the Bydgoszcz player took sixth place with the second result in her career - 8.36 seconds. She performed excellently in the high jump, breaking the personal record - of 1.89 m and winning this competition. She was fifth in the shot put - 13.40 m (this year's best race - 13.50 m). Sułek brilliantly opened the long jump competition. Already in the first round, she improved her personal best - 6.43 m. The medal was at hand. The AZS UMCS Lublin competitor dotted the "i" in the 800 m run, taking the second position and achieving the best result in her career - 2: 09.56.

In the pentathlon, the charge of coach Marek Rzepka collected 4,851 points and improved the 24-year-old Polish record of Urszula Włodarczyk. The world champion was Belgian Noor Vidts with 4929 points.

- The result is cosmic. In a few years, I believe that I will achieve the results of 5,000 points. I thought that a result of around 4,800 points would allow me to win a gold medal in Belgrade. The Polish record was enough today only for silver - Sułek summed up her start in an interview with TVP Sport.
