I graduated from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in 2003. Individual course of studies connected with one-year Erasmus fellowship in Universidad de Granada (Spain) was supervised by Professor Krzysztof Woliński. In 2007 I obtained the PhD title. At present I am employed as an assistant professor in the Department of Theoretical Chemistry, UMCS. My research areas include:
Adsorption processes in environmental protection, i.e. removal of phramaecauticals, phenols, and heavy metal ions from wastewaters, removal of volatile organic compounds from gas phase.
Synthesis and characterization of hybrid materials, inclusing sol-gel and hydrothermal routes. Wide range of instrumntal techniques I am using include: nitrogen sorption measurements, XPS, XRD, TEM, SEM, AFM, TG-MS, NMR, FTIR, Raman and others.
Tailored surface functionalisation for specified applications including adsorption, sensing, photoactivity, supercapacitors.
Based on my expertize I serve as external expert for many national and internatonional funding agencies.
