In preparation for the planned for the October of this year in the UMCS’s Academic Culture Center Chatka Żaka Student Culture Forum a meeting of the Student Culture Forum program committee took place online on the 28th of January 2021.
The committee pondered on, among other issues, the legal basis for the development of student culture in our country, problems and challenges that is may carry, possibilities of support for the actions taken as a part of the project. The committee also addressed the extent of future activities to be taken up by a body appointed for working out systemic solutions for the development of student culture in Poland.
Actions taken up so far in the progress of implementation of the Student Culture Forum project were summarized, including the “Directions of student culture development in Poland diagnosis” survey as well as further steps to be taken in 2021.
The meeting was attended by: Maria Curie Skłodowska University rector prof. dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski and acting director of the Academic Culture Center UMCE Chatka Żaka and the initiator of the Student Culture Forum Izabela Pastuszko as well as the Student Culture Forum program committee. The committee consists of representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science - undersecretary of state dr Anna Budzanowska, and Beata Pukas–Turek as well as representatives of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Sport – the director of the Department of State Mecenate, Mateusz Adamkowski and the director of the National Culture Center prof. Rafał Wiśniewski.
Rectors and pro-rectors of fourteen universities that possess in their structures academic culture entities also participated in the meeting.
