UMCS Academic Choir performed in Macedonia!

UMCS Academic Choir name of Jadwiga Czerwińska took part in the International Festival "Kostoski" Ohrid - Macedonia. Their repertoire included secular and sacred pieces, as well as folk songs from our region.

The UMCS Academic Choir's participation in the International Festival "Kostoski" in Ohrid is another confrontation, exchange of experiences, sharing exceptional moments with choral music. Concerts as part of the Festival are a unique opportunity for the band to get to know the music of other nationalities, new people who experience and share their music. By participating in the Ohrid Festival, we are richer musically and made new acquaintances and friendships. We are positively charged with emotions, which will certainly contribute to further raising the level of the choir - says Professor Urszula Bobryk, conductor and artistic director of the UMCS Academic Choir name of Jadwiga Czerwińska.

The choir was established over 70 years ago (in 1949). It is distinguished by high-performance standards, numerous awards and medals, and participation in many international music projects, and above all, by promoting contemporary Polish choral music abroad.

- We are delighted that the UMCS Academic Choir name of Jadwiga Czerwińska once again represents us outside Poland. Students conducted by Professor Urszula Bobryk prove again that Polish choral music is appreciated not only in our country but also worldwide. We are very pleased that Chatka Żaka is the main space where they can develop their talents - adds Izabela Pastuszko, Director of the Academic Centre for Culture and Media UMCS Chatka Żaka.
