On 25th June this year, a letter of intent was signed concerning educational, scientific and social activities promoting the natural values of the Lublin region, with particular emphasis on the Poleski National Park. 23 signatories signed the document, representatives of government and local government institutions, environmental protection, educational, cultural and press units. Maria Curie-Skłodowska University was represented by the Rector, prof. dr hab. Radosław Dobrowolski.
The letter declared the common goal of "promoting and implementing activities for the protection of nature and the environment on a local and regional scale, in the particular active protection of cranes nesting in the Lubelskie Voivodeship and educating the inhabitants of the Lubelskie Voivodeship and Poland on biology, threats and possibilities of protection this genre. " The partners signing the letter also expressed their willingness to support the activities carried out under the long-term project called "Wandering Lublin Cranes".
