Research Seminar of the Student Culture Forum

Representatives of academic, cultural centres from all over Poland came to Chatka Żaka as part of the Student Culture Forum project. On 17th and 18th June, the Research Seminar was held as part of the Student Culture Forum at the UMCS Chatka Żaka Academic Centre for Culture and Media in Lublin.

The Student Culture Forum is a project associating academic, cultural centres from all over Poland, the main goal of which is an in-depth analysis of the student culture in the country and the development of system solutions for its further development.

The project is implemented i.a. by identifying the needs of students and the conditions necessary to develop their creative activity and developing guidelines for nationwide programs supporting student culture and academic, cultural centres. The project's originator is Izabela Pastuszko, director of ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka, Rector's representative for the Student Culture Forum.

- Student Culture is a space where young people can find themselves and their passions. That is why it is so important to create appropriate conditions for them to develop and make mistakes. Through the Student Culture Forum, we want to show the important influence of students on the cultural life of the whole country anew. - says Izabela Pastuszko, director of ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka, Rector's representative for the Student Culture Forum.

At the end of last week, representatives of 9 units from all over Poland met for the first time since the beginning of the project at ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka to exchange experiences, present their previous activities, and participate in joint training.

- We are delighted that academic, cultural centres from all over Poland have responded to our invitation in such great numbers. It was very nice to meet people who (just like us) live a student culture daily. These two days, full of talks, presentations and workshops, were extremely inspiring for all of us, and we hope that the positive energy that we have generated together will translate into further joint activities. - adds Ilona Woźniak-Kostecka, project coordinator.

The key part of our project will be the National Forum of Student Culture planned for the autumn of 2021, organized at ACKiM UMCS Chatka Żaka, where a detailed analysis of the phenomenon of student culture in the realities of the 21st century will be presented. Ultimately, it will be a cyclical event that will monitor the evolution of the student culture in Poland on an ongoing basis.
