Rector's Annoncement on accommodation in the UMCS Dormitories during the summer holidays

ANNOUNCEMENT

of the Rector

of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University

on accommodation of students and doctoral students in the selected UMCS Student Residence Halls during summer holidays in the 2021/2022 academic year

 

§ 1

1. A student/doctoral student applying for the possibility of living in the UMCS Student Residence Hall during the summer holidays is obliged to fill in the application form constituting Appendix no. 12 to the Regulations on Benefits for Students of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Regulations).

2. The application referred to in sec. 1 shall be submitted to the administration of the Residence Hall included in the list referred to in sec. 3, no later than 30 June 2022, subject to sec. 5-7.

3. During the summer holidays it is possible to accommodate only in the following UMCS Dormitories:

a) “AMOR” Dormitory

b) “BABILON” Dormitory

c) “FEMINA” Dormitory

d) “GRZEŚ” Dormitory

e) “JOWISZ” Dormitory

f) “KRONOS” Dormitory

4. A student/doctoral student shall be assigned a place in a dormitory for summer holidays especially if they: serve an apprenticeship/internship, take up a job (a confirmation required), cannot come back to their home country, or need to conduct research connected with their studies, including the research required to prepare the diploma thesis.

5. Students/doctoral students who lived in UMCS Dormitories referred to in sec. 3 during the 2021/2022 academic year, shall be allowed to remain in the same dormitory for summer holidays, provided that they get the permission and fulfil the condition referred to in sec. 8.

6. Students/doctoral students who were accommodated in the “IKAR” Dormitory in the 2021/2022 academic year, shall submit the application for accommodation during the summer holidays to the administration of the residence hall they want to live in, choosing the dormitory from the list referred to in sec. 3, subject to sec. 8. If the number of places in a given dormitory is exhausted, the University reserves the right to propose a stay in another dormitory. The condition of residence will be obtaining consent.

7. Students/doctoral students who were not accommodated in one of the UMCS Dormitories in the 2021/2022 academic year, shall submit the application for accommodation during the summer holidays to the administration of the residence hall they want to live in, choosing the dormitory from the list referred to in sec. 3. If the number of places in a given dormitory is exhausted, the University reserves the right to propose a stay in another dormitory, provided that there are places available.

8. The condition for accommodating people living in UMCS Dormitories during the holidays is the payment of all existing dormitory fees by 25 June 2022.

9. Students/doctoral students shall be accommodated in double-occupancy rooms.

10. Students who received permission to stay at the UMCS Dormitories during the summer holidays for a period of at least one calendar month, pay the same fee as in the academic year. The payment shall be made at the reception desk of a given Residence Hall in cash or by card, in advance for the entire month by the 5th day of each month.

11. During the summer holidays, the following fee system for living in a dormitory applies:

1) ½ monthly fee for living in a student residence until the 15th day of each month,

2) the entire monthly fee for living in a dormitory up to 30 days.

12. Until 19 September 2022, students accommodated during the summer holidays, who will not be assigned a place of residence in the UMCS Dormitory in the academic year 2022/2023, are obliged to check out.

 § 2

Until further notice, in the UMCS Residence Halls, it is forbidden to receive visitors, including residents from other residence halls.

 § 3

1. Payments for accommodation in the Student Residence Halls shall be made according to the price list for the 2021/2022 academic year, subject to §1 sec. 11 items 1-2.

2. People who check out of the Dormitory are obliged to collect all their personal belongings and make all settlements.
