Programme of Fellowships under the Polish National Commission for UNESCO

The International Cooperation Center and the Center of Eastern Europe kindly inform that UMCS provide opportunity for university graduates from abroad to apply for a research fellowships funded by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO. The call is open for graduates from the countries in Eastern and Central-Eastern Europe and developing countries.

The program is addressed to young researchers: masters and doctors up to 35 years of age, who intend to conduct a research program at UMCS. Exceptionally, there is a possibility to accept the application for doctor or professor after the age of 35. The amount of the fellowships granted is 1600 PLN per month for a period of 1 to 6 months.

The fellowship holder implements the research program under the supervision of one of the UMCS researcher (tutor). The acceptance for admission to the fellowship and taking up scientific care should be confirmed by the fellowship tutor in the application form.

The candidates application should include:

  • covering letter for fellowship and scientific guidance, detailing anticipated duration of the internship and its start date,
  • application form (in the attachment),
  • photocopy of the candidates’ university diploma,
  • two references from persons who can confirm the qualification of the candidate.

The fellowship holder is responsible for purchasing insurance in case of unexpected event or illness or further accidents for the period of education in Poland or the purchase of European Insurance in National Health Fund (NFZ) immediately after the start of the scholarship.

The fellowship for a given month will not be paid in the case of more than 7 days absence. All living expenses and accommodation in Poland are covered by the fellowship holder. The final decision on awarding the fellowship is made by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO. After completing the fellowship, the fellow is obliged to submit the final report (in the attachment).

Attention! Persons receiving other fellowship granted from the Polish state budget and Card of the Pole and Residence Permit holders can not become beneficiaries of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO Fellowships Programme.
