Media technologies under the skin - prof. Piotr Celiński

- The media is very close to us today. I do not mean only that journalists are close to human affairs, and with cameras, they go wherever something important is happening. The media are also close to us in a physical sense - says, prof. Piotr Celiński from the Department of Media, Institute of Social Communication and Media Sciences, UMCS. - (...) today, the body and the interconnected media constitute a space that we could define as one of the dimensions of colonization. With the help of media technologies, various actors of the market and social games try to get inside us in order to investigate what is happening there, who we are, what we are, what decisions we will be willing to make, and what we will definitely not like - he explains.

We invite you to watch the material in which prof. Celiński talks about the physical proximity of media technologies that accompany us every day. This type of closeness affects our functioning, its effects, and how to be a human being in contact with the media. It makes us realize that our entire body is an important subject of interest from media technologies.
