Conference "Biotechnology has more than one name."

We live in the age of biotechnology, and this includes beer brewing, wastewater treatment, insulin production and cloning. This interdisciplinary field raises hopes and fears, and biotechnology departments are organized according to a 'colour code' that helps to understand the tasks performed.

The 'Bakcyl' Microbiology Student Research Group invites you to participate in a free online conference: "Biotechnology has many names".

The conference will cover issues related to the four basic colours of biotechnology, i.e .:

Red biotechnology: aimed at the needs of health protection, especially in the field of production of new biopharmaceuticals, development of genetic diagnostics or chemotherapy
Green biotechnology: covering aspects related to agriculture, i.e. the use of genetic engineering methods to improve plant or animal production,
White biotechnology: related to the use of biological systems in industry (biocatalysis, bioprocesses),
Violet biotechnology: covering ethical, legal and philosophical problems that arise in the course of the development of biotechnology (including the acceptance of genetically modified food, etc.).
