Studenckie Koło Naukowe Kultury i Sztuki organizuje ogólnopolską konferencję naukową „Film w kulturze”, której celem jest zwrócenie uwagi na różne aspekty filmu i jego wpływ na kulturę oraz na sposób w jaki kultura wpływa na film.
Konferencja składać się będzie z różnych bloków tematycznych. Każda sesja jest prowadzona pod okiem naukowców Uniwersytetu Marii Curie Skłodowskiej. Po każdym panelu będzie możliwość zadawania pytań i dyskusji. Chcielibyśmy zwrócić uwagę uczestników na: historię kina i jego rozwój, socjologię kina, różnice kulturowe kina i ich analizę, ekranizacje, adaptacje, kulturę popularną dziedziny filmu, zmiany filmowe na przestrzeni lat, wpływ kina na społeczeństwo oraz inspiracje filmowe.
Film to sztuka wizualna, która polega na tworzeniu sekwencji ruchomych obrazów, często z towarzyszącym dźwiękiem, w celu opowiedzenia historii lub wywołania określonych emocji u widzów. To także przemysł, który obejmuje produkcję, dystrybucję i wyświetlanie filmów. Dla wielu ludzi film kojarzy się z rozrywką, emocjami, historiami, które poruszają, wzruszają lub bawią. Filmy od ponad 100 lat stanowią także ważny element kultury popularnej, który przyczynia się do kształtowania naszej wiedzy, wartości i sposobu postrzegania świata. Filmy mogą także pełnić funkcje społeczne, edukacyjne, polityczne lub artystyczne, a ich wpływ na społeczeństwo i kulturę jest nieoceniony.
Udział w konferencji daje możliwość poszerzenia wiedzy na temat szeroko pojętej dziedziny kultury filmowej.

Film in Culture
The purpose of the nationwide academic conference "Film in Culture", organised by the Student Academic Club
of Culture and Arts, is to increase awareness of the various aspects of film, including its influence on
culture and how culture shapes the creation of movies.
The conference will consist of various thematic blocks. Each session will be conducted under the
watchful eye of experts from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS).
Following each panel discussion, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and engage in
discussion about the topic. We would like to draw participants’ attention to the history of
cinematography, its development and changes, cinema sociology, cultural differences and diversity in
movies together with their analyses, adaptations, interpretations and inspirations, as well as aspects
of popular culture and impact of film on societies.
Film is a visual art, which creates sequences of moving pictures, usually accompanied by sound, in
order to tell a story or trigger emotions in viewers. Cinema is also an industry involving production
process, distribution and film screenings. For many, first and foremost, it is the form of
entertainment involving emotions and stories that touch their lives. Movies have been an important
part of culture for over 100 years. They contribute to development of our knowledge, values and the
way of seeing the world. Films also have social, educational, political and artistic functions. Their
influence on community and culture is invaluable.
Participation in the conference offers an opportunity to gain and exchange knowledge about movie culture.
