Research Interests

Medieval history, especially the ideology of power recorded in texts and images. I am interested in the problem of opinions about peoples/nations in the Middle Ages and their modern time continuity.

My current work focuses on the formation of social group identity in medieval and modern times. I also try to find links between the old myths, stereotypes and prejudices and contemporary popular opinions about the characteristics, values of people and their social roles that they are supposed to fulfill.
