Webinar for foreign candidates to study at the UMCS

The education offer, recruitment process, academic life at the University and in Lublin - these are some of the topics that were discussed and presented to foreign candidates during a recent webinar held on 27 June 2022.

During the webinar, Robert Ainebyona, a representative of the Welcome Centre at UMCS, presented the educational offer in English and explained what the application process is and how it works.

The first guest of the webinar was Ms. Wiktoria Herun, Head of the Academic Support Department of the Lublin City Hall. During the deliberations Ms. Herun talked about the opportunities that Lublin offers to prospective students, outlined the situation of the labour market and the assistance that the city offers.

Other participants in the event were Courtney Wendy Oketch and Kamalu Anthony, students of Tourism Management at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial management. Our International students shared experiences on what it is like to study at UMCS, what it is like for them to live in Lublin and revealed the challenges they faced when they came to study in Europe. They also shared memories that stuck with them and talked about opportunities to develop their passions.

The final guest of the webinar was Sean Magavu, a Medical Biology student. Sean talked about his experiences studying Medical Biology and what activities he is involved in besides studying at our university - he is a member of the music band, The Helping Hand and a member of the internationalisation committee of the UMCS Student Government.

The event was organised by the Rector's Plenipotentiary for Internationalisation of Education - Dr Ewelina Panas in cooperation with the UMCS Promotion Centre.
