We have the pleasure to inform that Maria Curie-Skłodowska University obtained the title of “Ambassador Województwa Lubelskiego” (en. the Ambassador of the Lubelskie Region).
The UMCS Rector, prof. Stanisław Michałowski, received the statuette from the Marshal of the Lubelskie Region Jarosław Stawiarski. The official gala took place on 15 February 2020 in the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures. The award was granted in the category of Institution. In order to select the winners, the jury had to evaluate particular institutions’ contribution to the promotion of the region at the local and international level. The jury appreciated the University’s input in the multidimensional regional development.
The award winner is the biggest University in the Eastern part of Poland which celebrated 75th anniversary of the establishment in 2019.
