UMCS STUDENT APPOINTED TO NAWA COUNCIL

Maciej Cieciora, a second-year student of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism- Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin has been appointed to the NAWA Council

Maciej Cieciora, a second-year student of International Relations at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism- Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, at the request of the President of the Student Parliament of the Republic of Poland, was appointed by the Minister of Education and Science as a member of the Main Council of the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA on October 26, 2022. Hence, he is the only student in Poland who directly represents the student community in this important body.

The National Agency for Academic Exchange plays a key role among others the popularization of the internationalization of Polish science and higher education. Our University is also a beneficiary of NAWA programs, which have a direct impact on the internationalization of our University in terms of serving students from abroad. For the past two years, Mr. Maciej Cieciora has been involved in supporting the activities carried out by Dr. Ewelina Panas, Plenipotentiary of the Rector of UMCS for the internationalization of education in the implementation of NAWA projects. Now, as a student on behalf of the Parliament of Students of the Republic of Poland, he will have a direct voice in the NAWA Main Council, which, among other things, proposes directions for the Agency's development or gives its opinion on program plans,
