PhD Program in Political Science (in English) is offered to:

  • Holders of an M.A. or an equivalent degree in humanities and social sciences obtained from a higher-education institution in Poland or in other countries.
  • Holders of M.A. degrees in other disciplines can also apply  

 Candidates applying to the Doctoral (PhD) Studies Program in Political Science should provide a personal statement (approx. 3 pages, double space, Times New Roman 12) which should include:

  1. Candidate's aims and objectives during doctoral studies 
  2. Candidate’s area of academic interests (preliminary research proposal)
  3. Academic achievements of candidate from previous university programs ( degrees, awards, research projects, published work, participation in conferences,academic associations and reserach teams, teaching experience at university level, other activities if applicable)
  4. Work experience which might be related to the proposed area of research
  5.  Community work and other social activities of the candidate ( work in student government, participation in non-government organizations, voluntary work)

 Very good command of English is necessary. Candidate should provide a certificate of English language command on B2+ level. Candidates whose mother tongue is English or candidate who are graduates of a master’s program taught in English are exempted.  If the candidate is not able to supply a certificate Chairperson of the Recruitment Commission will organize an interview with the candidate to asses candidate’s fluency in English.
