Tanguillo Quintet - Lublin instrumental band founded in 2003. The instruments of the Tanguillo Quintet refer to Quinteto Tango Nuevo - a band founded by the Argentine bandoneon master - Astor Piazzolla.
The band's executive art is a combination of perfect technique and precision of implementation with the expression of artistic expression. Their play is a fire that does not burn, but stimulates the imagination. Probably a variety of styles (i.e. classical music, jazz, sung poetry, flamenco, Russian romances or folk) practiced by the band members make the tango performed by them unique.
Tanguillo Quintet performs on the stages of Poland, Europe and North America. He constantly enjoys the unflagging recognition of the audience always expecting the beauty of music in an absolutely masterful performance.
The Tanguillo Quintet has in its achievements the CD Quintet Tanguillo, PROQ07 / 2010, on which seven tangos of Astor Piazzolla and the "Piazzolla / Szmerek", on which two tangos of Astor Piazzolla were recorded, were recorded. Guest musicians of the Tanguillo Quintet are: violinist Grzegorz Cholewiński, double bass players Michał Kowalczyk and Urszula Czerniak.

Astor Piazolla (born on March 11, 1921, died on July 4, 1992) - composer, bandoneon virtuoso, creator of tango nuevo. He began learning to play bandoneon in 1930. Initially, he performed with the tango orchestra Aníbal Troilo. The scholarship obtained in 1954 and the trip of Astor Piazzolli to Paris to study with Nadia Boulanger resulted in his intensive compositional development.
In his works he introduced elements of jazz and classical music. His compositions are characterized by an atmosphere of a certain melancholy, tango rhythm, deviating from tradition harmony (dissonant chromatics) and referring to baroque music by using imitative technique or using the form of passacaglia.
Founded by Astor Piazzolla, the band Quinteto Tango Nuevo, with which they toured on four continents, brought him international fame. His career was interrupted by a stroke. He died in Buenos Aires. In the achievements of Astor Piazzolli we will find over three hundred tangos, music for about fifty films, theater performances
and ballets.
