INVITATION FOR EXHIBITION „Quo Vadis - rzecz o przemijaniu”

The Main Library of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University is pleased to invite you to the opening of an exhibition of works by Sławomir Łuczyński "Quo Vadis - a thing about passing". The event will take place on 25th of October at 13.00 in the hall of the UMCS Main Library, ul. Radziszewskiego 11.

"Quo vadis" is the first thematic exhibition on the achievements of Sławomir Łuczyński and 158th individual one. The idea for this exhibition has been maturing for years. The author shows human attitudes towards what is inevitable in everyone's life. It forces you to reflect on the passing of time. It is no coincidence that the exhibition will open before 1st of November, All Saints' Day. The heroine of the exhibition is death. "Meaningless, heroic, compassionate, insatiable death, but also death-salvation and death comforter," says Sławomir Łuczyński. It is impossible to tell about death in just a few sentences. "You have to come and look at the pictures. Think and ponder this October time."the artist suggests.
Sławomir Łuczyński belongs to the Association of Polish Caricature Artists, in which he has been the vice president since December 2011. Has won awards and distinctions in national (64) and international (80) competitions. For artistic activity, he was awarded by SPAK twice with the small "Eric" (1998 and 2000) and the large "Eric" in 2002. In addition, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage awarded him the Distinguished Cultural Activist badge. In 2013, the "More Beautiful Poland" Movement under the auspices of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage honored him for "creating beauty that we can make us proud in front of whole world." The year 2014 brought him a badge of the Minister of Culture - Distinguished for Polish Culture.
The exhibition will be available for visitors until 30th of November, 2019.
