The Senate of Maria Curie-Sklodowska University at its meeting on 28/09/2022 adopted the Gender Equality Plan

Work on the Gender Equality Plan began in March 2022, when the Gender Equality Plan Team at the UMCS was established, consisting of:

  6. Diana Szczepańska, M.Sc. - Acting Director of the International Cooperation Center,
  7. Dr. hab. Agnieszka Lewicka-Zelent (Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology),

  13. Ewa Majewska, M.Sc (Doctoral Student Government of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University),
  14. Anita Sobczyk-Adamska, M.Sc, Secretary of the Team (International Cooperation Center).

Since its establishment, the Team has met periodically through the MS Teams platform.

In the first phase of preparing the Gender Equality Plan (i.e., the diagnosis phase), those involved substantively established a list of data necessary to develop the most relevant Plan for the University.

The data centered around 5 areas:

  1. Governing bodies and decision-making bodies
  2. Gender equality in the recruitment and career development process
  3. Integration of work and personal life
  4. Gender equality in curricula and research
  5. Actions taken by UMTS units to promote gender equality

Based on the collected data, after careful analysis and discussion by all members of the Gender Equality Plan Team, a list of recommended actions relating to the above-mentioned areas was developed.

Work on the Plan was completed in August this year.
