EUniverCities network meeting in Parma (Italy) with the participation of representatives of the UMCS and Lublin City Hall

On December 1-3, 2021, representatives of UMCS and Lublin City Hall are taking part in the EUniverCities network meeting entitled "A new student generation: new challenges for city&university" held in Parma-Italy.

During the three-day conference, they exchange experiences, ideas and participate in inspiring meetings and presentations by network members. UMCS was represented by Diana Szczepanska (Acting Director of the Center for International Cooperation), and Ewelina Panas (UMCS Rector's Plenipotentiary for Internationalization of Education). The Lublin City Hall was represented by Mariusz Sagan (Director of the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship of the Lublin City Hall).

On the third day of the meeting, a workshop is planned for student-representatives from all partner universities and staff, which will also include a representative from our university, Saadi Artel, a 2nd year student of International Relations at UMCS.

The EUniverCities European network was launched in 2012 to bring together tandems of medium-sized cities and universities. The aim of the network is to exchange and disseminate knowledge, expertise and experience on city-university cooperation in urbanized Europe. EUniverCities is also a platform to increase the visibility of partner cities and universities on the international stage.

Network members learn from each other how to fruitfully shape city-university cooperation, apply lessons learned, and take next steps at the local, regional and international levels.

The network was inspired by the EU2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, which attributes great importance to knowledge, innovation and technology.
