Wojciech Zgłobicki nominated as professor

We are pleased to inform you that the President of the Republic of Poland, by the decision of 22 February 2021, awarded the title of professor of sciences and natural sciences in the discipline of Earth and environmental sciences to Dr hab. Wojciech Zgłobicki, prof. MCSU, Department of Geology, Soil Science and Geoinformation (Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences MCSU).

Prof. Wojciech Zgłobicki has been working at MSU for 25 years. He obtained Ph.D. degree in 2001 (dissertation Dynamics of modern slope processes in north-western part of the Lublin Upland in the light of results of studies using caesium (137Cs) method) and Ph.D. degree in 2009 (Geochemical record of human activity in slope and river sediments). His research interests are focused on problems of dynamic geomorphology, geochemistry of sediments, landscape formation and protection, and geotourism. Prof. Zgłobicki conducts extensive international cooperation, actively publishes and participates in research projects. He has been awarded several times by the Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, in 2001 he received the POLITYKA weekly scholarship. Currently he is the Head of the above mentioned Department and Deputy Dean for Students at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University.
