We are pleased to announce that in the "Book of the Year 2020" competition, organized by the Provincial Public Library of the name Hieronim Łopaciński in Lublin, two publications of retired UMCS employees were awarded.
Wawrzyn by Paweł Konrad for the best book of 2020 in the category: Lublin region. The monographic publication was given to the book by dr hab. Anna Łosowska retired director of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Archives and Museum entitled Faithful Son of our Homeland. Fr. Prelate Jan Poddębniak (1907–1994), published by the Norbertinum publishing house. The album Crosses by Dr Zbigniew Jóźwik, graphic designer and retired academic teacher at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at UMCS. The award gala was held on 11th June 2021, at the Provincial Public Library of the name H. Łopaciński.
Provincial Public Library H. Łopacińskiego in Lublin every year organizes a competition for a beautiful and valuable book about the Lublin region. The competition aims to promote the editorial achievements of the Lublin region, especially publications on its history, cultural traditions, and sightseeing and tourism values. The publishers of the awarded publications receive Wawrzyn by Paweł Konrad, the first Lublin printer.
