UMCS REAFFIRMS SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE

UMCS reiterates its support to the Ukrainian student community

Ladies and Gentlemen

The authorities of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin express their firm opposition to Russia's unprecedented military aggression against Ukraine and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people at this difficult moment in their history.

The University is a community based on traditional, noble values such as; humanism, cooperation, tolerance, openness, freedom and respect for the law, including human rights. The students and doctoral students of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University from Ukraine constitute the largest group of foreigners studying at our University, therefore we strongly declare that we will take steps to support those who will be directly affected by the war in the East. We will inform you about the details and the possibilities of obtaining help in the way customary at the University (ie via the University's website and in direct correspondence addressed to PhD students and students from Ukraine).

At the same time, we ask the entire UMCS community to remain calm, to use reliable sources of information, and to show solidarity with the Ukrainian members of our academic community. We also encourage you to provide material support to humanitarian organizations bringing aid directly to Ukraine.

Today, the most important thing is to support our Ukrainian friends.

We are with you, your families and your loved ones.
