Green Week conference "Walk of the elements: water, earth, air"

On 1st June 2021, the II EU Green Week popular science conference "Walk of the elements: water, earth, air" was held at the ECOTECH-COMPLEX Center. Green Week is a European project initiative aimed at creating a friendly environment for all of us and striving for the "zero pollution" standard. Due to the restrictions in force, the event was held in compliance with the sanitary regime and was broadcast online.

The conference was officially opened by the UMCS Rector, prof. Radosław Dobrowolski delivered a plenary lecture entitled "The fascinating geological history of Roztocze." The second speaker was prof. Grzegorz Grzywaczewski, President of the Board of the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Lublin, presented a plenary lecture entitled "Lublin natural heritage: threats and protection of animals".

Subsequent speakers also raised issues related to the broadly understood pro-ecological issues in their speeches. They represented various units and institutions, incl. Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Lublin, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, University of Life Sciences in Lublin, University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, Poznań University of Technology, Institute of Rural Medicine Witold Chodźko in Lublin.

Anyone interested could participate in the conference via the internet platform. The organizers of the event were: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Lublin, Center for the Meeting of Cultures and the Marshal's Office of the Lublin Province. The conference organisation was co-financed by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Lublin.
