After the event: Orientation Day for International Students

On 30th October 2019 (Wednesday) UMCS International Student Office together with National Agency for Academic Exchange arranged the Orientation Day for International Students of English programmes within the framework of “Welcome to Poland” programme programme organized by National Agency for Academic Exchange.

During the event international students accepted to study at UMCS in 2019/20 academic year received information about their studying and staying in Lublin.  Additionally, our students got to know following issues:

  • legalisation of stay, obtaining residence permit,
  • registration  of residence,
  • accommodation and residential life regulations of UMCS dormitories,
  • personal safety, rights and obligations under the Polish law,
  • insurance & healthcare.

Speakers included representatives of: Municipal Police, The Rule of Law Institute Foundation, UMCS Students' Union, British Council Centre, Polish Language and Culture Centre for Polish People from Abroad and Foreigners and Students’ Canteen “Trójka”.

During the meeting students also got a short insight to cultural life of Lublin as well as places worth visiting. In addition, the programme of the event included some icebreakers and warm-up activities which foster teamwork of international students .

All participants received the welcome package and could eat delicious snacks.

The event was organized as a part of task no. 8 Orientation Days under the project „Foreigners @ UMCS – a comprehensive set of actions and systemic solutions focused on institutional improvement and strengthening of UMCS in servicing international students and staff” within the framework of “Welcome to Poland” programme organized by National Agency for Academic Exchange.
