on accommodation of students and doctoral students in the selected UMCS Student Residence Halls during summer holidays in the 2024/2025 academic year
§ 1
1. A student/doctoral student applying for the possibility of accommodation in the UMCS Student Residence Hall during the summer holidays is obliged to fill in the application form constituting Appendix no. 12 to the Regulations on Benefits for Students of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Regulations). The application period is 9-25 June 2025.
2. A student/doctoral student shall submit the application referred to in sec. 1 to the administration of the Residence Hall that they live in 2024/2025 academic year. A student/doctoral student who does not live in any of the Residence Halls in the 2024/2025 academic year shall submit the application to the Residence Hall where they would like to stay in included in the list referred to in sec. 3. The application should be submitted no later than 25 June 2025 (application form). Submitting an application does not guarantee receiving a place for the summer.
3. During the summer holidays it is possible to accommodate only in the following UMCS Dormitories:
a) “AMOR” Dormitory – 50 spots
b) “BABILON” Dormitory – 70 spots
c) “IKAR” Dormitory – 240 spots
d) “JOWISZ” Dormitory – 30 spots
e) “KRONOS” Dormitory – 60 spots
f) “ZANA” Dormitory – 50 spots
4. A student/doctoral student shall be assigned a place in a dormitory for summer holidays especially if they: serve an apprenticeship/internship, cannot come back to their home country, need to conduct research connected with their studies, including the research required to prepare the diploma thesis or take up a job (a confirmation required). A student/doctoral student is obliged to justify their application.
5. Priority for obtaining a place in the UMCS Residence Hall during the holiday period is given to persons who currently live in UMCS Residence Halls.
6. Submitting an application to the administration of the Residence Hall where the student/doctoral student lives in the 2024/2025 academic year does not guarantee that they will be granted a place for the summer holidays in the same Residence Hall.
7. Submitting an application to the administration of the Residence Hall indicated on the list in sec. 3 by a UMCS Student/PhD Student who is not currently residing in any of the UMCS Residence Halls does not guarantee receiving a place for the summer period in the same Residence Hall.
8. The condition for accommodating persons currently living in UMCS Residence Halls during the summer holidays is the payment of all existing dormitory fees by 25 June 2025.
9. Students/doctoral students shall be accommodated in double-occupancy rooms.
10. Students who received permission to stay at the UMCS Residence Hall during the summer holidays for a period of at least one calendar month, pay the same fee as in the academic year.
11. Payment for accommodation shall be made to the individual account number to which the accommodation fee was paid in the academic year. Payments shall be made up to the 15th day of each month, in proportion to the period of residence.
12. Persons accommodated for the holiday period who will not be assigned a place in the UMCS Residence Hall for the 2025/2026 academic year are obliged to check out until 19 September 2025 at the latest.
13. A student/doctoral student who is granted a place in a UMCS Residence Hall during the summer holidays in the 2024/2025 academic year is obliged to confirm the place with the administration of the Residence Hall where the place was granted by 30 June 2025 via e-mail. The e-mail addresses of the individual administrations of the UMCS Residence Halls are available on the UMCS website.
14. The deposit/booking fee for a place for the summer holidays in the UMCS Residence Hall in the 2024/2025 academic year is PLN 400. For persons living in any Residence Hall at the start of the summer accommodation, the previously paid booking fee/deposit will be credited for the summer accommodation and then returned after meeting the regulatory requirements. Persons who did not live in the student house will be required to pay the deposit/booking fee by 30 June 2025.
§ 2
1. Payments for accommodation in the Student Residence Halls shall be made according to the price list for the 2024/2025 academic year, subject to §1 sec. 8-11.
2. People who check out of the Dormitory are obliged to collect all their personal belongings and make all settlements.
