OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARIE CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA IN LUBLIN
announces a competition for the post of assistant in the research and teaching staff group in the Department of Management Research Methods at the Institute of Management and Quality Sciencesat the Faculty of Economics of the UMCS
The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in the Law on Higher Education
and Science of 20 July 2018. (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and in the Statutes of the University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska, dated 29 May 2019, as amended.
I. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE COMPETITION:
- possession of a doctoral degree in the discipline of management and quality sciences;
- predisposition to research and teaching work confirmed by the opinion of an independent research and teaching staff member teaching staff;
- Knowledge of the main quantitative research methods used in management and quality sciences, knowledge of qualitative methods will be an advantage;
- practical knowledge of computer programmes useful for data analysis and the development of teaching materials, in particular this includes knowledge of the basics of the programs: SPSS, Amos or SmartPLS and R or Python, as well as QDA class software (for qualitative data analysis);
- fluent knowledge (spoken and written) of the Polish language to be able to teach and prepare publications and preparation of publications;
- knowledge of English at a level which allows effective publication of scientific texts is required required and the ability to teach in English will be an added advantage;
- analytical skills;
- ability to organise his/her own work and that of the team;
- research interests related to the study of consumer or organisational behaviour, including in the context of information technology applications, including generative artificial intelligence tools in these areas areas.
II. THE APPLICATION FOR THE COMPETITION SHOULD INCLUDE:
- application addressed to the Rector of the UMCS;
- a copy of the doctoral diploma;
- a personal questionnaire and a curriculum vitae or CV;
- list of publications and scientific achievements;
- list of teaching and organisational achievements;
- a statement of compliance with the requirements, pursuant to Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on higher education and science Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571 as amended);
- a statement from the candidate that the UMCS will be the primary place of work;
- a declaration by the applicant that he/she consents to the processing of personal data, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons in relation to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);
- References, opinion on aptitude for research and teaching.
III. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Employment under a fixed-term contract of employment from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026 at the primary place of work, on a full-time basis.

The deadline for the submission of documents is 15 September a 2025.
The competition will be resolved by 18 September 2025.
The successful candidate will be required to provide originals or copies or certified true copies of the documents referred to in point II of this notice to the address indicated in point IV before the employment relationship is established.
The university does not provide housing.
The outcome of the competition does not result in an employment relationship. The decision on employment is taken by the Rector.
The University reserves the right to close the competition without a decision.

The person entering the recruitment process is obliged to provide data to the extent that this is required by Article 22 (1) ofthe Labour Code and by the specific provisions for the employment of the position. The provision of data in a scope wider than that resulting from the from the regulations is voluntary. The basis for the processing of the data is the provisions of the law and consent, with regard to the data beyond the area resulting from the regulations.
Pursuant to Article 7(3) of the General Data Protection Regulation, with regard to data going beyond what is provided for by law, the data subject shall have the right to withdraw consent at any time, whereby the withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent prior to its withdrawal.
In accordance with Articles 15 to 21 and Article 77 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject has the right of access, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing and the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, as well as the right to data portability. The personal data collected will not be sold or made available to third parties, except to those authorised by law, nor will it be transferred to third countries or international organisations, contrary to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation.
The data will be processed by the UMCS during the recruitment period and, in the case of data processed on the basis of consent, until any objection is made, or consent is withdrawn, and thereafter for archival purposes, in accordance with in accordance with the procedures of the UMCS, as well as for the purposes and for the period and to the extent required by law to secure possible claims.
Recipients of personal data may be entities authorised by law and entities that process personal data on behalf of the Controller on the basis of an agreement concluded for the entrustment of personal data processing.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority - the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection.
The data you provide will not be processed for the purpose of automated decision-making, including profiling.
