Guest from Ukraine - Prof. Maryna Komar

From 4 to 19 July, our Institute will host Prof. Dr. Maryna Komar, an outstanding specialist in pollen analysis of mineral sediments. Prof. Komar is the head of the Paleontological Museum at the National Museum of Natural Sciences of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences in Kiev.

For more than 20 years, Prof. Maryna Komar has collaborated with scientists from our Institute. She is currently involved in the NCN research project OPUS 16 "Global, regional and local factors determining the palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental record in Ukrainian loess-soil sequences along the Dnieper valley - from proximal to distal areas of the periglacial zone". The Polish-Ukrainian grant is headed by Prof. Dr. Maria Łanczont (Department of Geomorphology and Palaeogeography).
